Iveco throws weight behind FTA seminars

18th May 2009 Print
Truck manufacturer Iveco has joined forces with the Freight Transport Association (FTA) for its annual Transport Manager seminars, providing businesses with a competitive edge in tough conditions.

Transport Manager 2009 will take place across twelve UK venues during the autumn and will give freight and logistics companies an overview of forthcoming transport legislation, emerging enforcement priorities for the year ahead and guidance on operational best practice.

Iveco will showcase its vehicle range and senior engineers from the company will discuss vehicle developments that will help operators to reduce costs and improve road safety.

Nigel Emms, Iveco’s Director of Brand and Communication, said: “In what is going to be a tough year for the industry, vehicle manufacturers and operators have a shared set of core priorities linked to getting the best out of the commercial vehicles businesses operate. In practice that means operational flexibility, reliability, minimum downtime and fuel efficiency. Iveco’s involvement in Transport Manager 2009 underlines our commitment to these objectives.”

Simon Chapman, FTA’s General Manager Information, said: “Transport Manager 2009 is designed to ensure operators are on top of their game as they enter 2010. Understanding what can be expected of vehicle developments in wider efficiency improvements is essential if a competitive edge is to be maintained. Iveco’s involvement this year is therefore most welcome.”

In addition to vehicle developments, Transport Manager 2009 will focus on changes to the HGV testing regime, developments in VOSA’s system of roadside enforcement activity, managing agency driver compliance and upcoming Health and Safety Executive targeting of the transport sector.
