RHA ensures industry is ready for Driver CPC
From 10 September 2009 anyone driving vehicles of 3.5 tonnes and over on a commercial basis will need a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence and with time running out, the RHA’s own training arm, RHA Training has just signed up its 1000th candidate for its Driver CPC-related courses.“The fact that we have had 1000 bookings is tremendously encouraging,” said RHA Head of Training Steve Ellis. “However, we are very aware that this is just the tip of a very large iceberg. We consider that the training packages we provide are so comprehensive that it is vital they be made available to any driver working within the industry – not just members of the RHA.”
RHA Training covers every aspect of the Driver CPC and has developed a range of products to assist operators along every step of the way. “These include half day implementation and management seminars for owners, directors and managers who need a full understanding of the requirements and options available,” Steve Ellis continued. “These have been running in all parts of the UK for over a year and have been attended by hundreds of delegates, whether or not they are members of the Association.”
One of RHA Training’s most popular courses is the five-day “Train the Trainer” programme, specifically designed to help successful candidates gain accreditation from the approval body so that they can create and deliver their own training programmes.
Following the 10th September deadline, RHA Training will begin a series of open courses at 25 locations around the UK, rising to 50 locations in 2010. We will also continue to offer in-house training sessions for those who prefer to have training delivered to groups of staff at their own premises.
Getting value for money is essential in today’s economic climate so to make it go a bit further, RHA Training is offering a 5% discount on all courses booked before the end of August.
