14th July 2009 Print
Jenni Falconer Gorgeous Glaswegian Jenni Falconer and Coronation Street stunner Michelle Keegan, who plays young temptress Tina Mclntyre in Britain’s biggest soap, lead a celebrity line up at Truckfest Scotland. The stars will help the crowds to celebrate its 20th anniversary when it opens its doors at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd August 2009.

Jenni is best known for her TV presenting, hosting shows and features for various channels and programmes such as Entertainment Today, GMTV, and the National Lottery Draw. She can currently be seen hosting the popular daytime quiz show Wordplay on TV channel Five and will appear at Truckfest Scotland on Saturday

Recently crowned Sexiest Female at the British Soap Awards, Michelle will appear at Truckfest Scotland on Sunday. Michelle joined Corrie in January 2008 in her first major acting role and will appear on Sunday. She has been at the centre of many storylines since she stepped on the cobbles in January 2008 with her character Tina currently involved in a love triangle with the street’s Jason Grimshaw and resident bad boy David Platt.

Jenni and Michelle will be joined at Truckfest by Ice Road Truckers star Rick Yemm who will appear on both Saturday and Sunday to sign autographs, present awards and meet fans throughout the two-day event. Rick is a tattooed, loud, lively character with a ‘work hard, play hard’ mentality and a great sense of humour (as demonstrated when he showed up for work on series two sporting a blue Mohawk!). He lives in British Columbia with his wife and daughter and, having appeared in both series of the record breaking documentary, is well known by the UK viewers for his larger than life character and rivalry with ex-boss man Hugh.

Also appearing on Saturday will be a familiar voice from national radio, BBC Radio 2’s Sally ‘Traffic’ Boazman. Sally has developed a legion of fans over the past ten years who tune into her travel reports on Radio 2 and regular chats with Chris Evans, Steve Wright and Jeremy Vine and is a huge supporter of Truckfest.

Other celebs appearing will be of the wheeled variety as Big Foot and Thunder Bolt, breathtaking Monster Trucks that crush the cars that just can’t hack the pace! Dominating the main arena with their 66-inch tyres and top speed of 80 miles per hour, Big Foot has won the Monster Truck World Championship six times and also holds several World records including longest distance Monster Truck jump at 202 feet over a 727 aeroplane and the longest wheelie! Truckfest won’t have aeroplanes but will have cars ready to be crushed as both trucks jump more than 14 cars, travelling 110-115 feet through the air!

Hundreds of trucks of all shapes and sizes with amazing customised paintjobs, gleaming chrome and fantastic interiors will be on display, all hoping to win one of the many awards up for grabs commending the best in show. Categories include Kept Owner Driver, Company Owned, New Truck, Fleet, Tipper or Rigged Truck, Custom and Paintwork and Classic or Vintage Truck.

Truckfest is open from 9am until 6pm on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd August 2009. Adult, child and family tickets are available as well as pitches for camping and caravanning with savings if purchased in advance. For more information, visit truckfest.co.uk
