In addition, casting a welcome shadow over the Harley-Davidson stand, the Nightster which is a retro re-working of the Sportster 1200 with slick black styling will be jostling for the limelight alongside the production version of the XR1200 high performance street bike both on show for the first time in the UK.

Buell’s collection of delights will be headed up by their amazing new 1125R. The watercooled 146bhp radical machine boasts a completely new Buell V-twin engine developed in association with Austrian firm Rotax and is a massive power up from previous models whilst still utilising the signature tensioned belt-drive. Another Buell 2008 highlight is a re-designed engine for the rest of the range, which features an all new electronic fuel injection system and an extra 500rpm redline.

In addition to their bikes on display, Harley-Davidson and Buell have further boosted their NEC Show offerings by introducing their very own Harley-Davidson and Buell ride-out Zone, giving visitors the chance to experience them for real. Visitors over the age of 21, with a full UK licence, will be able to test ride the stunning 2008 Harley-Davidson V-Rod and the full 2008 range of Buell motorcycles on roads around the NEC, all they have to do is remember to bring their license and riding gear. For some added fun, visitors can have a go on the Buell Handling Skills Course in Hall 4 to experience the supreme low-speed handling and agility of a Buell motorcycle on a demanding obstacle course against the clock.

Paul Stroud, Managing Director of Harley-Davidson and Buell UK and Ireland commented: “Its another exciting year for both Harley-Davidson and Buell and the NEC Show is once again the first place we have chosen to show off our new models to the British public. We are really looking forward to seeing how visitors respond to the new range especially those who get the chance to experience the bikes when they take part in the Harley-Davidson and Buell ride-out Zone”.

Finlay McAllan, Managing Director of MCI Exhibitions, said: “We are delighted that Harley-Davidson and Buell have chosen the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show to unveil their 2008 ranges. Once again, this proves the NEC is the only place to see all the new bikes for the first time, under one roof. In addition, we go one step further than other Shows by giving visitors the chance to try the bikes for themselves on roads around the NEC in our unique Ride-Out Zone”.
