BSB on track and ready for action
The Motorcycle Circuit Racing Control Board (MCRCB) has today granted a track licence to Donington Park, which will enable this year’s motorcycle racing events, including the forthcoming British Superbike Championship on 23-25 May, to go ahead as planned. The licence permission follows a thorough inspection of the track at Leicestershire’s parkland circuit by MCRCB Chairman Dennis Carter and Safety Delegate Norman Williamson at 2pm today.
The purpose of the visit was to ensure that the track layout is in accordance with previously agreed plans and adheres to all current industry safety regulations.
“We’re delighted at the outcome of the track inspection and can now look ahead to our exciting calendar of two-wheeled events, which kicks off with the third round of the British Superbike Championship next weekend,” says Donington Park Chief Executive Officer Simon Gillett.
“The domestic Superbike series is traditionally regarded as one of the most competitive in the world, so we’re bound to see some closely-fought action when the teams come to Donington Park over the Bank Holiday weekend.”
