Halifax increases Web Saver Extra rate

Halifax today (Friday 9th May 2008) announces that it has increased the rate for its Web Saver Extra account to 6.35% gross (6.07% AER). This includes a 0.35% gross bonus until 18th July 2008.

All new and existing Halifax Web Saver Extra customers with balances of between £1 and £100,000 will benefit from this higher rate.

Key features of the Halifax Web Saver Extra account include:

6.35% gross p.a. (6.07% AER*) on balances of £1 to £100,000
One withdrawal per year without loss of interest
Each subsequent withdrawal will only lose 30 days' interest purely on the amount withdrawn
