Families planning ahead for next year's holiday could get a boost from Skipton Building Society. Skipton is offering £25 of free travel money to customers who open a Special Saver Account during September and save over £150 per month.According to research from leading travel agent, Thomas Cook, the cost of a week's holiday is set to rise next summer. The weakness of the Pound and higher fuel costs mean the average week away could cost more than £500 in 2009.
Skipton Building Society is offering to help holidaymakers ease the burden of some of the extra cost. Anyone looking to save for next for next year's holiday can benefit from the great rate of Skipton's Special Saver Account, praised by Which? as the best buy for regular savings (September issue), and get an extra £25 spending money when they buy foreign currency or travellers' cheques through Skipton before they go.
Special Saver Account Features
1. Interest rate of 6.8% Gross
2. You can open your account with anything between £10 and £250.
3. You can pay in between £10 and £250 per month, whatever amount suits you. This amount can be varied each month as long as you pay the minimum of £10 each month.
4. Interest will be capitalised on the account on the 12 month anniversary of your account opening and this, plus the account balance, will be transferred into our Instant Access Account. Cash withdrawals from this account are limited to £250 per day.
5. You cannot make withdrawals from the Special Saver Account. If you do need to access your money before it is transferred to an Instant Access Account, then your account may be closed. Accrued interest will be paid to the date of closure.
6. The interest rate on our Instant Access Account is variable and ranges from 1.25% gross pa/AER to 3.05% gross pa/AER depending on the amount you invest.
7. Limited to maximum of three accounts per person.
