The world’s most exclusive gym opens in Chelsea

22nd June 2007 Print
Maybe you’re a global business dynamo at the peak of your career; or a Hollywood actress looking to be in perfect shape for your next movie. Perhaps you’re a billionaire recovering from a ligament you snapped while hurtling down the Cresta Run.

From 1st June 2007 there is just one destination to put you – and keep you – at the top of your game both physically and emotionally: a completely unique, integrated fitness service created by Stephen Price - the renowned personal fitness and health expert who’s ‘Fashionista Workouts’ at The Berkeley Health Club & Spa have made him the darling of the designer world.

Stephen Price at 3 Jubilee Place is like no other gym. In fact, gym doesn’t begin to cover the highly customised services available to the select group of just 30 clients which Stephen Price at 3 Jubilee Place will cater for. Each client will receive the dedicated attention of a small, carefully selected team of the most respected practitioners in their field – from nutrition to strength training, Pilates and yoga to sports massage; all hand-picked by Stephen himself from his ‘Little Black Book’ of experts. They include:

• Anna Barnsley, Physiotherapy and sports injury expert
• Vicki Edgson, Nutritionist and author
• Maya Fiennes, Yoga expert
• Dr. Justin Glaister, Neuro Muscular Dentist
• Pete Roberts, Pilates and bodyworks coach
• Michelle Roques-O’Neil, Aromatherapist
• Jamie Sawyer, Strength and Fitness expert

Through this highly focussed one-on-one attention, the client will attain a level of wellness and personal awareness that’s just not possible through commercial membership gyms. By working together and mentoring, the team will empower each client to achieve optimum health on every level.

In an exclusive, cocooning setting designed by internationally renowned interior designer, Kelly Hoppen, each client will embark on what Stephen describes as their own personal ‘journey’. Integrated health may be a ‘buzzword’, but at Stephen Price at Jubilee Place, it becomes a reality. Annual membership is set at £5,000 and each hour of expert time will cost from £75 to £160 depending on the nature of the treatment.

Within the gym, information is entered onto computers that enable the trainers and therapists to keep track of what each client is doing outside of their own specialism, therefore, allowing that specialist to integrate future treatments into the programme.

There’s even an ‘altitude chamber’ that mimics the demands on the body of working out at 12,500 ft. Usually confined to sports facilities used to train elite athletes, this hi-tech piece of equipment helps to burn twice as many calories in half the time as regular exercise amongst other benefits.

Through careful scheduling, each client has almost exclusive use of the gymnasium area which is fitted with the very latest state-of-the-art fitness equipment from TechnoGym.

At any one time, two or more experts may work on a client together: the nutritionist, for instance, may work alongside Stephen himself (who takes charge of strength training and personal training), assessing the client’s nutritional needs to attain peak performance. The yoga instructor may consult with the massage practitioner or aromatherapist, with the aim of relaxing specific muscle groups where the client holds tension.

If weight management is a goal, nutritional advice and an eating plan can be given hand-in-hand with a total fitness programme created to burn fat and sleek the silhouette.

“In effect, each client receives the level of personal attention which until now has been exclusively available to elite athletes,” explains Stephen, who is himself a former top-level professional cricketer and junior international cricketer and rugby player.

“And when they travel abroad – as so many of our clients do – we can liaise with gyms and fitness centres overseas, to ensure absolute continuity in their fitness programme. As a result, after a few months of working with their own close-knit team, clients will achieve total knowledge of their own body and its potential.”

As he has proved at The Berkeley, Stephen Price is utterly committed to helping each individual attain optimum wellness. This can now be achieved at Stephen Price at 3 Jubilee Place - in what is surely the most beautifully-designed fitness centre to be found anywhere in the world.
