Salute the sun at this year’s YogaAid

1st May 2009 Print
YogaAid has become an extra special feature at the Yoga Show, which takes place at London’s Olympia this year on October 30, 31 and November 1.

It aims to raise money for a range of charities, including the Prison Phoenix Trust which helps to promote spiritual awareness amongst inmates, Life 4 Children which brings yoga to children of all ages and the Upsana Foundation which supports the communities of the hilly regions of Southern India.

Last year’s event saw 150 yoga fans raise £20,000 completing 108 Sun Salutations during the three hour session and included Karen Ellen, an MS sufferer who has found the benefits of practising yoga and yoga breathing one of the best remedies for her symptoms, even enabling her to complete the London Marathon despite her illness!

Event organiser Keith Coomber says: “This year we’re hoping 300 people will attend YogaAid with the view to doubling the amount of money raised, too. It’s a fantastic event and spectacle we’re proud to have originated at the Yoga Show”.

YogaAid takes place on Saturday 31st October at 12 noon. Full details are available on the website theyogashow.co.uk.
