Eat your way to better health this summer

3rd July 2008 Print
Yakult, the original probiotic drink, has launched a new summer on-pack promotion, offering consumers a free healthy summer recipe book. The campaign will run from early July, up until the end of August, throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland. This follows on from the success of Yakult’s online health drive, which was launched earlier this year.

The promotion will appear on-pack, giving consumers the option to log on or text for their free recipe book. A range of summer recipes have been specially created by leading health writer Michael van Straten. The recipes include plenty of ‘prebiotic’ ingredients to help improve digestive health and prove healthy food doesn’t have to be boring. All recipes are based around light summery foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

“Eating habits generally change in the summer. We all feel like getting healthier, lighter meals, but something more interesting than a normal salad” says Harjinder Ponaich, brand manager for Yakult.

“We want our consumers to know that whilst drinking a bottle of Yakult each day is a great step towards improving digestive health, what you eat is also important”.

The aim of the promotional activity is to help people improve their digestive health by offering them simple, easy to follow, healthy recipes which they can use during the summer and beyond. Amid the rise of conditions linked to the digestive system, it is vital that people appreciate the importance of digestive health, and the vital role that diet and lifestyle can play in maintaining a healthy digestive system.

Probiotics such as Yakult allow consumers to take a positive step in maintaining overall digestive health. Combined with a healthy diet, Yakult helps to maintain a beneficial balance of intestinal bacteria, thereby contributing to a healthy digestive system.
