Is it time to ditch the ‘girly’ diets?

Her weekends were typically busy, generally based around eating out, drinking out, maybe an afternoon at a football match. However, whilst the guys she drank with got up on a Sunday morning to play football and burn all the energy off, she would just watch... and eat.
It wasn’t long before this lifestyle caught up with Jeni and she became very overweight, even walking up stairs required her to stop and use her inhaler. It was time to change….
Jeni had tried dieting a million times before, “I could have wallpapered my house with the diet magazines and books I’d bought”, but this time she meant it.
What was different this time was that she stopped herself from feeling so guilty about liking eating and drinking. She stopped thinking that she could lose weight really quickly, which was always a problem previously – if she didn’t see results immediately she would always give up.
She decided to set about finding a way of losing weight whereby she could make the changes that she was prepared to, but without being forced to change everything. She started to do it herself, but found she also needed the discipline of a set time to weigh in every week, and therefore found a slimming club to attend.
Jeni still had a drink and ate out, possibly a bit too much; but made the decision that she would rather lose weight slightly more slowly while enjoying life than become a calorie obsessed hermit. If her diet was too strict, Jeni knew she’d give up after a week or two, and in order to really lose the weight and keep it off it was going to have to be with changes she was prepared to stick to long term.
And it worked! Jeni lost 8 stone in fact (112lb, 51kg), over an 18 month period. She had learnt how to lose weight (and more importantly inches) without losing her lifestyle, friends or character.
Jeni was so pleased with what she’d achieved she wanted to share her success with others and has just set up Beltdown.com. It’s a weight loss site aimed primarily at men, Jeni recognised that a lot of her lifestyle was very ‘laddish’, but women are more than welcome. So if you’d like your man to lose some weight, or you’re fed up with all the ‘girly’ diets out there and fancy a change then visit beltdown.com now.
