The prestigious cargo arrived on pallets in August, and will form part of over 3,000 square metres of stonework that will feature in 12 exclusive homes, at Oxley Park off H6 Childs Way.

The characteristic stone from Northamptonshire, called Banbury Brown Sawn Cropped & Tumbled, has the unmistakable orange/brown colour, typical of the county.

The company decided on using stone because of the prestigious homes available, and their outlook, which has views of open countryside.

NHBC award-winning site manager, Phil Davis explained: “Stone is a wonderful material to work with and has a tremendous amount of warmth and character. Elevationally, the homes will be attractive to look at, both individually, and as a street scene. And of course they will complement the surrounding area exceptionally well.”

Barratt state that because the stone-built homes are so sought-after, two substantial properties have already been snapped up, even before the stone has been laid.

Each house type will use approximately 250 square metres of stone, in four different sizes in the same colour. Experienced bricklayers, specialists in handling stone, will work on the exclusive properties – the first being planned for completion in November this year.

The 12 stone-built properties include four and five bedroom styles, in two or three-storey layouts.

Mandy Jacobs, sales negotiator, said: “These homes are already proving to be in great demand, with two of the top-priced homes already bought. The character, combined with the stunning views, makes them unbeatable.”

Two stone homes are on release, in four and five bedroom styles, starting at £480,900. Other properties on release include three, four and five bedroom homes. Prices range from £267,900 to £535,700.

When completed, Priory Park will consist of 82, two bedroom apartments and two, three, four and five bedroom homes.

The show homes are open daily, 11.00am to 6.00pm. Or, go online at Barratthomes.co.uk.
