New homes in Wendover to launch July 4th

The scheme, which will transform the former Princess Mary Hospital site in Halton into a highly desirable residential address, will open with an American flourish; there will be plenty of fun for all the family and a delicious BBQ, from 11am to 4pm.
The former RAF hospital closed in 1996 when it became surplus to requirements, and now the site is being developed by a consortium of housebuilders to provide a distinctive mix of one, two, three, four and five bedroom homes.
This prime location is surrounded by picturesque scenery with the well-known Wendover Woods, Halton Woods and Haddington Hill bordering the development. The consortium has contributed significant funding to help preserve this wonderful natural setting, with £136,000 for future maintenance of the landscaping and environment in and around the development; additional measures include the installation of bat and swift boxes to help maintain the area’s eco-system.
Other contributions to the local community include £1.16m for secondary schools, £914,000 for primary schools, £125,000 for recreational facilities, £40,000 towards healthcare and £10,000 for transport improvements.
Nightingale Woods will be a great place to live with attractive street scenes, high quality homes in a wide variety of styles and large areas of open space to enjoy. A number of bus and cycle routes throughout the development to key destinations will be ideal for residents, encouraging alternative transportation to the car.
Glyn Hopping, managing director at Barratt North London, says: “This exciting development will appeal to everyone from young professionals to growing families and Barratt is offering lots of ways to help people get on and move up the property ladder. I would encourage anyone interested to come along on Saturday, 4th July when we can explain the different ways to buy and show you round our brand new three-bedroom townhouse showhome.”
Barratt is offering some excellent deals at Nightingale Woods, including HomeBuy Direct on a number of homes. HomeBuy Direct is a new scheme supported by Barratt and the Government which enables buyers to move into a new home at the scheme for just 70 per cent of the purchase price. Homebuyers taking advantage of it can receive an equity loan of up to 30 per cent, funded jointly by Barratt and the Government. The buyer then finances the remaining 70 per cent of the purchase price either through a mortgage, a deposit or a combination of the two. There is no interest to pay on the joint Barratt/Government equity stake for the first five years, although a fee will be charged from year six onwards.
The housebuilder’s Part Exchange scheme is also available on selected homes. Here, Barratt buys the purchaser’s existing home, enabling the purchaser to buy a new Barratt Home. This takes away the worry of being in a chain and you can even stay in your old home until your new one is ready. With no estate agency fees to pay, or HIP to prepare, you save money too.
This location certainly ticks all the boxes. There’s a good choice of primary, secondary and sixth form colleges close to Nightingale Woods. For commuters, Wendover train station is around a mile from the development, where services to London Marylebone take approximately 50 minutes. The nearest London Underground station is Chesham, around seven miles away.
