Designer living from only £110,000 in Milton Keynes

Designer living from only £110,000 in Milton Keynes House-hunters can now own a dream designer home with industry-leading eco-friendly credentials for as little as £110,000 at George Wimpey’s unique Oxley Woods development in Milton Keynes.

Using the innovative First-Time Buyer Initiative, the final three ‘Type G’ houses designed by award-winning architects are available to quick-off-the-mark qualifying customers.

Packed with character, the two-bedroom, two-bathroom townhouse design boasts a generous open-plan kitchen/lounge/dining room at its heart, and a cloakroom and store off the entrance hallway.

Upstairs, the property’s versatility is fully evident, with a living room, a home office, and a bathroom. Two bedrooms and a second bathroom can be found on the tranquil top floor.

The government’s innovative First Time Buyers Initiative (FTBi), helps qualifying customers with a household income of less than £60,000 to meet mortgage lenders’ requests for a larger deposit.

An interest-free equity loan is available for up to 50% of the value of the property, co-funded by the Homes and Communities Agency and George Wimpey, allowing homeowners to reduce their mortgage by up to half on selected homes - but still own 100% of the property.

The loan is interest-free for the first three years, with the rate then capped at 3%.

Eye-catching homes at Oxley Woods are attracting buyers from across the UK, keen to live in an exclusive property designed by the architects of the Pompidou Centre and the Millennium Dome – and to turn an environmentally friendly lifestyle into a reality.

Oxley Woods began when George Wimpey and one of the world’s leading architects, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, put their heads together to win the Government’s Design for Manufacture competition, to create innovative, affordable and environmental homes.

Each is topped with a carbon emission busting ‘EcoHat’ chimney, which gathers warm air from the service zones, tops it up with solar energy, and filters it back through the living areas as warm air ventilation. Combined with an eco-friendly timber panel construction and high levels of insulation, owners could save hundreds of pounds on their energy bills.

While sharing this winning environmental design, each property boasts individual character, with balconies and bay windows, canopies and colour schemes.

The homes also satisfy the 16 standards of Lifetime Homes and can be adapted easily to suit young couples and families, through to retirement.

Further information on the final three ‘Type G’ homes and the First-Time Buyer Initiative is available by visiting the Sales Centre, located at 164 Holden Avenue, Oxley Park, Milton Keynes, open Thursday to Monday from 11am to 5pm.
