Pupils’ paintings used to promote building site safety

Creative kids put pen to paper to design posters to highlight health and safety in a competition organised by the leading housebuilder, which is currently building homes at its exciting ConteXt development in Castle Street.
The children were asked to design posters based on highlighting the dangers of playing on building sites, with the most eye-catching and informative posters earning three young artists - Hayley Inglot, Grace Anneliese David and Samantha Martin - £20 of WH Smith vouchers each.
Tim Betts, Sales & Marketing Director for George Wimpey West London, said: "Faced with a long school holiday, children are often tempted to explore and can sometimes view building sites as an interesting new place to play.
"We gave the pupils leaflets which reminded them of the dangers of playing on or around building sites, where there are potential dangers like large vehicles, scaffolding, bricks and pipes and sand that can hide sharp metal and glass.
"By encouraging the children to design posters they are able to understand the safety message better, through the use of graphics."
The company's ConteXt development of superb one, two and three-bedroom apartments is less than a mile from St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School.
Mr Staggs from the school, said: "The project gave our pupils the opportunity to learn about a serious issue in a fun and informative way and we enjoyed being part of George Wimpey's health and safety initiative."
Situated in Castle Street, High Wycombe, ConteXt provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy the wide range of shops, bars and restaurants of the recently regenerated town centre.
Selected apartments offer stunning views across Wycombe Abbey and all are within a five-minute walk of the town centre and benefit from central heating, double glazing and fully fitted kitchen with built-in oven, hob and hood, allocated undercroft parking and a balcony or a terrace.
For relaxation, Rye Park offers green space and an outdoor pool while the town is also home to a theatre, multi-screen cinema and bowling alley.
George Wimpey offers a range of homebuying incentives to customers. Its easymover programme provides incentives for first-time buyers, while customers with a property to sell can reserve their new home and then sit back and relax while the house-builder helps to find a buyer.
Incentives can be tailored to homebuyers’ circumstances and are subject to availability.
ConteXt’s show apartment and Sales Information Centre are located at Castle Street, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, and open daily from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
