Barratt launches new homes in High Wycombe

Barratt launches new homes in High Wycombe Judging by the rate at which Barratt’s new homes are being snapped up in High Wycombe, this town and its surrounding areas continue to be highly sought after by discerning buyers.

When Barratt launched Downley Park last year, a development of family homes in Downley, High Wycombe, interest in the scheme was high from the start, with many of the properties sold off-plan. In the space of ten months, all 45 of the three and four-bedroom houses were sold.

The housebuilder is now preparing to launch Milton Place on 26th September, a development of 41 new homes just two and a half miles away from the successful Downley Park.

Milton Place is located in Amersham Road, on the former Terriers School site. The scheme will offer 41 one, two and three-bedroom homes for sale and just like Downley Park, it will be beautifully landscaped with a green for residents to enjoy. Barratt has also paid more than £150,000 to Wycombe District Council as part of the Section 106 planning agreement for the provision of public open space.

Chris Scarborough, sales director at Barratt North London, says: “Downley Park has been very successful and demand for the Barratt brand in High Wycombe continues to be very good. We already have interest from buyers in our new Milton Place development and look forward to its launch later this month.”

There’s another great reason for buyers to take a look at this latest development from Barratt. The housebuilder is offering the Government-backed Homebuy Direct scheme on seven of the homes at Milton Place.

Homebuy Direct enables buyers to move into a new home at Milton Place for just 70 per cent of the purchase price. Homebuyers can receive an equity loan of up to 30 per cent, funded jointly by Barratt and the Government. The buyer then finances the remaining 70 per cent of the purchase price either through a mortgage, a deposit or a combination of the two. There is no interest to pay on the joint Barratt/Government equity stake for the first five years, although a fee will be charged from year six onwards.

High Wycombe, with its Georgian High Street and impressive buildings, is the largest town in Buckinghamshire; it is also surrounded by some of the most picturesque countryside in southern England. To the east of the town is The Rye, a large area of grassland with a lake that is used for boating and fishing. Within a couple of miles of the town are other notable attractions such as Hughenden Manor Park, home of the former Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeili and open to the public, and Wycombe Air Park, home of the Blue Max Museum with its collection of historic flying machines. The town’s Wycombe Swan Theatre is one of the finest theatres outside London.

The train station at High Wycombe, around a mile from Milton Place, has direct trains to London Marylebone which take around 40 minutes. The A40 and M40 offer easy access by road to London and the West.

Prices for homes at Milton Place, Amersham Road, High Wycombe, Bucks, HP13 5AF are expected to start from £230,000 for a two-bedroom house. The development will be launched on 26th September and will be open thereafter Thursday to Sunday, from 10am to 6pm and Monday 2pm to 6pm. For more information, visit barratthomes.co.uk.
