Early releases at The Arc in Harrow

22nd October 2007 Print
Early releases at The Arc in Harrow Barratt North London is now taking reservations for apartments at its striking development in Stanley Road, Harrow, ahead of the official sales launch due to take place in November.

As The Arc is still in the early stages of construction, prospective buyers can visit Barratt’s Byron Place development in Wembley, where sales negotiators will be happy to provide them with information on The Arc.

When complete, The Arc will comprise 129 private one and two bedroom apartments, 21 two and three bedroom affordable homes plus 4000 square feet of commercial office space. The scheme will also include a highly attractive pedestrian plaza. 11 London Underground railway arches next to The Arc are also being restored and converted for community and retail use.

Gary Ennis, Barratt’s regional managing director, says: “Interest in The Arc has been incredible so we have decided to release the properties for sale early. This contemporary development will completely transform the former site of the Biro factory and offers superb homes in an excellent location in Harrow; only around 15 minutes by train from central London.”

The Arc not only addresses a real need for new homes in Harrow, it also has ‘green’ credentials. Careful consideration has been given to the design of the heating system, whereby heat and hot water will be supplied to each apartment using an innovative source of environmentally responsible energy. The system provides energy through a wood chip-fuelled biomass boiler, and the resultant heat energy is distributed to the homes via a network of above and below ground pre-insulated pipes.

The advantages to the homeowner include a reliable and constant supply of heat and hot water, freedom from fumes and risk of gas leaks and greater energy efficiency. The system protects the environment by using renewable fuel (wood) which is low polluting and so conserves fossil fuel supplies. The wood chips have been locally sourced and the material is carbon neutral, so reducing the threat to global warming.

The Arc is well-located at the end of Stanley Road, in an attractive area with traditional Victorian terraced homes, shops and cafes. A large Waitrose supermarket is less than a five-minute walk away and the Underground is around a 10-minute walk from the development.
