Affordable homes at The Arc shaping up well Darrell Mercer, chief executive of Dominion Housing Group, recently joined Glyn Hopping, managing director of Barratt North London, at the housebuilder’s new development in Harrow, to view the first of 51 affordable homes being built.

The Arc, a striking scheme located in Stanley Road on the former Biro factory site, offers 129 private one and two-bedroom apartments, more than half of which are sold, plus two and three-bedroom affordable apartments for the housing group. The development will also have 4000 square feet of office space and an attractive pedestrian plaza.

Barratt and Dominion have worked together in the past; the company successfully built 71 affordable homes in Grant Road, Harrow in 2005; this latest development is shaping up well, with the apartments due to be completed by Christmas.

Darrell Mercer says: “We are delighted to be working with Barratt North London again; there is a huge demand for affordable new homes for low cost rent in this area and Stanley Road is an excellent location.”

The Arc is located in an attractive area with traditional terraced homes, shops and cafés. A large Waitrose supermarket is less than a five-minute walk away and the Underground is around a 10 minute walk.

Glyn Hopping adds: “The Arc is an impressive development of stylish apartments. The private homes are already proving popular with buyers and I am sure the affordable homes will be equally sought-after. The whole development is due to be completed by June”

The private homes are priced from £225,000 for a one bedroom apartment and from £292,500 for a two bedroom apartment.
