There is room at the inn for Antler Homes

Ermin Nook - exterior of number 7b Last month His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales held a reception to mark five years of his ‘Pub is the Hub’ initiative, which stresses the importance of Britain's pubs in preserving rural life.

The Prince was recently quoted as saying that rural pubs and inns are "crucial in binding rural communities together". If this is the case then Wanborough, in Wiltshire, must be one of the most tightly knit communities in the UK, boasting six excellent public houses. Wanborough is a thriving English village and now Antler Homes is building Ermin Nook, a development of just nine four and five bedroom family homes in this rural Wiltshire gem.

Graham Coton, manager of local estates agents, Dreweatt Neate, comments: “Wanborough is a very sought after location and the local inns provide a meeting point for the villagers, which contributes to the strong sense of community in the area. Ermin Nook is an exclusive development allowing buyers to live in bespoke family houses in the centre of a thriving village. Antler Homes is renowned for creating beautifully crafted luxury homes and due to a shortage of this type of property in the village the launch of Ermin Nook on the 26th April is greatly anticipated.”

Ron Virrill, managing director of Antler Homes Wessex, comments: “Villages such as Wanborough are fantastic places to live in and bring up a family as you get all the advantages of countryside living with fantastic amenities on your doorstep. Wanborough Primary School recently received very good reports from OFSTED and the local pubs are a great social hotspot for villagers. Swindon is only a ten minute drive away so residents will benefit from all of the advantages of country living whilst having a buzzing metropolis only miles away.”

Ermin Nook comprises nine four and five bedroom detached family houses in a tree lined cul-de-sac on Kite Hill in Wanborough. The properties combine side gabled roofs, red brick and chestnut coloured tile frontage to reflect the local architectural style.

Internally each home is fitted with a luxury custom built kitchen which includes a granite worktop, a Siemens stainless steel gas hob and double oven, a stainless steel built-in microwave, an integrated fridge/freezer, integrated dishwasher and ceramic floor tiles. The open plan kitchen/breakfast room in every home is flooded with light from the French doors which open out to the garden. Every home incorporates a separate utility room, a garage and parking space and also benefits from a conservatory which is ideal for relaxing summer afternoons.

The village of Wanborough has a weekly farmers market and an annual summer show. The village is located in the Vale of The White Horse and the surrounding countryside is ideal for bicycle rides and leisurely walks. Swindon town centre is easily accessible via the M4, as are Oxford, Reading and London. There are regular and direct trains from Swindon train station to London Paddington which take around one hour.

Prices at Ermin Nook start from £485,000 for a four bedroom detached house and £625,000 for a five bedroom detached house.
