Taste of Thames-side life shows instant appeal

Taste of Thames-side life shows instant appeal A taste of Thames-side life seems to be appealing to homebuyers with the news that half of the homes available on a development in the conservation village of Castle Eaton have been snapped up.

Bach Homes launched the site less than two months ago, revealing guide prices for the four properties of between £500,000 and £1.1 million. Prices now start at £895,000. Each house comes with fishing rights on a stretch of the Thames as it makes its way from its nearby Cotswolds source towards the heart of the capital.

The thought of life close to the Thames has hooked two buyers straight away, although Helene Parker-Joel of selling agents Perry Bishop & Chambers is not surprised.

“The houses on the Ettone Barns development by Bach Homes offer a fascinating blend of styles. The ground floor layout is thoroughly contemporary in the way the living spaces move from one purpose to another though on the first floor there is a more traditional form of division and Bach is very flexible in meeting customer wishes,” explained Helene.

“Bach is willing to look at a range of optional extras that allow these to become thoroughly bespoke homes. Materials have been chosen to ensure they fit in with the village surroundings and two of the homes are being offered with up to 1.75 acres of additional land while a further 1.5 acres is available for long term rent.”

The name Ettone Barns is drawn from a medieval word that means “farm by the river”, perfectly summing up how Bach Homes has created rural-style buildings on this stunning site.
