Design innovation at Piazza in Chippenham
Buyers looking forward to moving into The Piazza, Barratt Homes’ new development in Chippenham, can now tailor their home to their exact tastes, thanks to a major new service from the company. Earlier this year Barratt opened its first Choices centre for the region, a designated design centre where people who have bought properties at the site can view the wide range of different fittings available for their new home.
Buyers of properties at The Piazza will now visit the centre, in Chippenham, to choose standard specifications for their kitchens and bathrooms, such as worktops and tiles, but they also have the option of paying extra for a wide variety of upgrades.
“The centre is fantastically well-equipped and is effectively providing people with a bespoke service,” said design consultant Karen Box.
The Choices centre has been fitted out with three full-sized Barratt kitchens and there is also a bathroom and an en-suite, together with samples of all the different tiles, work surfaces and fittings, so customers, many of whom will have bought their homes off plan, can see exactly how the various colours and patterns will work in different-sized properties.
There are examples of different fireplaces, the wide range of sanitary ware, fitted wardrobes and much more.
There is also a sophisticated computer programme so that Karen and fellow design consultant Karon O’Callaghan can immediately check on costs and feasibility of requests immediately.
Most popular upgrades so far include putting in additional showers, extra tiling, different kitchen sinks and taps, opting for five burner hobs and double ovens and various floor finishes including ceramic floor tiles, laminates and superior carpets.
With the show homes now open, work is well underway at the Piazza and once completed, will feature one, two and three bedroom homes to cater for every buyer, from those taking their first steps onto the property ladder to a family looking for a new home.
