Landscape gardener has designs on new home

Transforming barren patches of land into colourful areas of public open space and inspired private gardens is all in a day’s work for Simon Miness who works with Persimmon Homes to complete the creation of new communities across the region.

Simon’s excellent eye for bringing life and colour to Persimmon developments has convinced more than a few purchasers to make a move to a new home. Indeed, his work is so good that he recently ditched the old saying ‘never mix business with pleasure’ and snapped up a new home of his own at the company’s Scholars Park development in Rowde, Devizes where he created the showhome garden.

Simon is a contracts manager for TW Landscapes Ltd, which has worked for Persimmon Homes Wessex for five years and most recently, carried out the landscaping for Scholars Park. He comments: “Having worked on various Persimmon developments, I am very familiar with the quality and style of their homes, so when my wife Sarah and I decided we wanted to upgrade our property from three to four bedrooms, Persimmon Homes was the obvious choice.

“Scholars Park is also in the perfect location for us. It is central, which is great as it means we’re at the heart of the village and have all the local amenities on our doorstep. As we’re from Rowde originally, we’ve always wanted to move back, so when we found out that Persimmon Homes was building Scholars Park we knew immediately it was the right development for us.”

Simon and Sarah purchased a four bedroom Sussex house type: “It’s a great space and really well designed – we definitely made the right choice,” added Simon. “The Sussex has everything that we need and is the perfect size. What’s more, Persimmon really has thought about the architecture of the development as a whole, ensuring Scholars Park sits well within the existing community and offers a really attractive place to live.”
