The light of your life

The light of your life People often talk about having SAD syndrome at this time of year. It makes them feel thoroughly fed up as they face a winter indoors when they would rather be outside. But a solution might be to add a conservatory to bring light and space into your home – natural light that can be enjoyed even on cooler days thanks to a room that brings important extra living room to the home, too.

Iain Powis, of the Old Town, Swindon, office of Dreweatt Neate says a classic example of the benefits to be enjoyed through owning a conservatory can be seen at 60 Cranborne Chase, at Taw Hill, Swindon.

“Conservatories have always boosted a house and, when people ask me what best they can do to enhance their property, adding one is something I often suggest,” he explains.

“It literally gives a different outlook on the world on days when maybe it’s bright but a bit cold or windy to be outside. It literally gives a different outlook on the world compared with peering through a window.

“This house has the bonus of being a detached, individual family property that is very well presented and looks onto the landscaped rear garden through the conservatory which is larger than most and has the refitted kitchen opening into it.

“There are some houses that really stand head and shoulders above the others around them and this is one. The owners have made great efforts to ensure it is the best of its type and this is revealed in every detail.

“The house, which has four bedrooms, has an interesting design with a prominent centre full height gable at the front featuring a distinctive canopy over the entrance door.

“As well as plenty of space, most families also appreciate excellent local facilities and the property is situated close to local shops, a medical centre, leisure amenities, a primary school, and the Orbital Retail Park that includes several superstores.”
But perhaps the best news has been saved to last. The guide price is now £284,995, a reduction of £20,000, as the owners have found a new home and are keen to move. For more details, email Dreweatt Neate at swindon1@dnproperty.co.uk.
