Love blossoms at Blunsdon Park, Swindon David Wilson Homes is offering an incentive to spice up your Valentine weekend this year. Visit its impressive selection of four-bedroom homes at its Blunsdon Park development on Saturday 14th or Sunday 15th February and you could win a romantic prize for two.

Blunsdon Park is conveniently located on the northern side of Swindon and all visitors who tour one of the new homes available will be entered for a lucky prize draw. The winner will enjoy an overnight stay at the nearby Pear Tree hotel in Purton and a romantic dinner for two.

“Valentine’s Day is a time of year when couples might dream of a life together in a new home,” says Lynne Morgan, sales director at David Wilson Homes Southern.

“Visiting one of our attractive homes at Blunsdon Park could help realise that dream. We already have great packages to help people buy their home. Our hotel and dinner prize will be the icing on the cake for the lucky winner.”

The developer is to offer some new homes at Blunsdon Park under the recently launched Government scheme, ‘HomeBuy Direct’, that gives qualifying homebuyers the chance to move in for only 70 per cent of the purchase price.

David Wilson Homes Southern will match the Government’s funding pound for pound in the new venture to provide the 30 per cent equity loan to the homebuyer. The buyer finances the remaining 70 per cent either through a mortgage, a deposit or a combination of the two.

In addition, there is no interest to pay on the joint David Wilson/Government equity stake for the first five years, although a fee will be charged from year six onwards.

Buyers can redeem the loan in instalments, purchasing up to 100 per cent of the equity after their initial purchase by buying additional equity at the market rate. Alternatively, if they sell their home, the equity loan is repaid by way of a share of the sale proceeds, with no recourse to them in the event of a shortfall.

Lynne says: “The loan for 30 per cent of the property’s value makes it even easier for buyers to own the roof over their heads. Couples really can fulfil their dreams on Valentine’s Day this year if they move quickly.”

The homes being allocated to the scheme at Blunsdon Park include four-bedroom homes priced from £275,000.

It’s not only First Time Buyers and Key Workers who can benefit. People who have previously owned properties but are now unable to do so – for example, in cases where relationships have broken down– can also apply.
