Chris and Mandy Clifford moved to Blunsdon Park, the new development in Swindon by David Wilson Homes in November; just five weeks later, Chris’ brother Ben moved in next door.

Chris (26) and Mandy (26), who both work at Blunsdon House Hotel as food and beverage manager and revenue manager respectively, drove past the development every day on their way to work. On taking a closer look, they discovered how easy it is to move up the property ladder with part exchange.

Chris says: “We wanted to move from a three-bedroom semi-detached to a four-bedroom detached house but expected it to be too big a jump and too expensive especially buying brand new. Mandy adds: “We’d been in our old home for four years and it was beginning to need some redecoration, which would have worked out quite expensive. We plan to stay here for years to come and it will make a lovely family home.”

Ben comments, “David Wilson Homes bought my old home for £175,000 and this allowed me to move up to a larger house with a garden and a garage for my car at Blunsdon Park. Although I had a good deposit it was still quite difficult to find a mortgage in the current climate, however once that hurdle was crossed it was plain sailing. David Wilson Homes sold my house within a week and I was able to move in and enjoy Christmas in my new home.”

Blunsdon Park couldn’t be more convenient for commuters. Swindon is situated just off the M4 which provides links westbound to Bristol and eastbound to London. The town’s mainline railway station offers services to London Paddington, with the journey taking around an hour.
