First residents move to Collingwood

John and Debra Mills bought a four-bedroom detached house at the site, and took advantage of Barratt’s part exchange scheme to relocate from South Wales.
“I secured a new job in Salisbury and had to relocate very quickly,” said John (54), who heads a department at Salisbury District Hospital.
“Barratt’s part exchange deal was very attractive and we also liked Collingwood’s location in the village of Alderbury. It’s easy to commute to work as the city is just a short drive away.
“We rented when we first arrived in Salisbury and moved into our new home in the middle of July – we’re the first people to move to the development,” he continued. “The Barratt sales and on-site teams work very well together, and made our move a very enjoyable process.”
Mark Docherty, Barratt sales director, added: “Our part exchange scheme is specially designed to make a move as stress free as possible. It removes all the uncertainty, because Barratt is a guaranteed cash buyer - so there is no chain, no last-minute price haggling and no hidden expense - and we also cover the cost of HIPs.
Collingwood sales negotiator Lee Hopkins said: “ It’s great when residents start moving in as the development really comes alive and a new community begins to take shape.”
Thanks to good road links, Collingwood is ideal for commuters. The A36 provides easy access to the cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester, the New Forest, the Dorset coast and the maritime city of Southampton.
Alderbury village has much to offer, including a variety of clubs and associations. The local inn, The Green Dragon, is believed to be the Blue Dragon inn mentioned in Charles Dickens' famous novel, “Martin Chuzzlewit.”
