Barratt staff go on the run for charity Staff at Barratt’s Piazza development will be raising funds for Help for Heroes by running in the annual Chippenham Half Marathon this month.

The event will see field sales manager Richard Lawson and sales negotiators Denise Mellersh and Cheryl Hobbs run 13 miles to raise money for the charity.

Barratt has already sponsored the trio £250 and the team are hopeful that they will reach their target of £500 with sponsorship from residents at the Piazza.

Sales negotiator, Denise is particularly excited about getting back on the track, six years after she successfully completed the London Marathon.

“The Chippenham Half Marathon is such a wonderful opportunity to get my running shoes back on and support such a fantastic cause,” said Denise.

“The support from residents at the Piazza has been overwhelming and I have even managed to persuade a good friend to run alongside us.”

Ex-military service man, Martyn Mackie who has recently moved to the Piazza after taking advantage of Barratt’s Armed Forces Discount Scheme is keen to support the cause, particularly as his older brother is currently serving in Afghanistan.

“I was delighted to hear that the Barratt sales team will be participating in the Chippenham Half Marathon,” said Martyn. “I will be supporting the team from the sidelines, and of course making a donation.”

Barratt’s sales director, Andrea Pilgrim said “The Chippenham Half Marathon is such a wonderful opportunity to support Help for Heroes.

“Meeting some of our residents who have served in the Armed Forces has really opened our eyes to how much they do to protect our country.”
