Private housebuilder beats the big guns at top awards

Privately owned Rowland triumphed over short-listed national housebuilders Barratt and Octagon to claim the prestigious category in consumer housing magazine Your New Home’s 2006 property awards.
The highly regarded awards celebrate the best in building design and quality and attract entries from small, medium and volume housebuilders across the UK. Rowland claimed Best Luxury Development for its high-class apartment venture Fairlawns, in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire.
Judges commented: “Rowland have taken a much over-used term and created an exceptional development that distils the essence of genuine luxury - elegant proportions, space and specification, all set in a priceless setting in a prestigious location.”
The Your New Home award is the latest in a growing list of accolades for Rowland Homes. It achieved a runner up position in the Best Residential Developer category in North West Business Insider’s Property Awards in 2006 and a top 50 ranking in the Sunday Times top 100 fastest growing businesses in the UK in 2005. Paul Rowley was named Property Entrepreneur of the Year in both 2004 and 2005 in Entrepreneur magazine’s annual awards and was recently profiled in the Daily Telegraph’s 40 most successful entrepreneurs under 40.
Commenting on the company’s latest success, Paul Rowley, founder and group managing director, said: “This award is indicative of just how far Rowland has progressed over the past 13 years and the on-going evolution of our product range. It is valuable endorsement of our innovative approach to bespoke developments, designed to not only to respond to customer demand, but to substantially raise the bar in luxury living.”
Steven Allenby, regional managing director added: “Fairlawns is a prime example of how our flair for design, attention to detail and sympathetic approach to local architecture has resulted in the creation of a new landmark within a well-established residential area.
“Going forward, we aim to capitalise on our position as a market leader in luxury development, commencing with a bespoke venture of our most exclusive detached homes to date in Bolton. This award is perfectly timed to give us that extra competitive edge.”
Located on the ‘millionaire’s row’ of Bolton, Chorley New Road, Heaton Grange features a collection of 11 individual five and six-bedroom residences, designed in the appealing Arts and Craft style. The private, gated development had generated more than 260 early enquiries prior to its launch, reflective of the huge demand for high calibre homes in this sought after location.
