Look what’s cooking at St Joseph’s School

Miller Homes is arranging for a new kitchen to be installed at St Joseph's RC Primary School in Wesham. The school, on Garstang Road North, is close to new homes that Miller Homes is building at Willow Fields.

It was during a recent health and safety road show visit to the school that Head Teacher Margaret Wright happened to mention that the school was in need of a new kitchen for children to develop their healthy eating awareness curriculum work and help its out-of-school club activities. Nothing was said at the time but Miller Homes Health and Safety Advisor, Tracey Herrick, took the request back to HQ. The next step was to send in the expert team of planners and designers in a fashion that would please the BBC’s DIY SOS team.

Children at the school have been involved in helping to plan the layout for the new kitchen and showing their maths skills in measuring the space for the units. The new kitchen will be installed over the Summer holidays, ready for the new school year in September.

Margaret Wright, Head Teacher at St Joseph's RC Primary School, says: “I would like to say a big thank you to Miller Homes for the very generous donation of a new kitchen, which we were in great need of. Everyone is looking forward to the new kitchen being up and running when we return to school in September. It will make a big difference to school life.”

Miller Home’s Site Manager Steve Mitchell said: “ The kitchen will be to the same high standards as we install in our show homes and all the stops will be pulled out to have the electrics, services and new kitchen ready for the children’s return to school in September.”

No small feat considering that Steve and his team are also building the range of 16 properties at Willow Fields. These feature everything from 1 and 2 bedroom apartments to 3, 4 and 5 bedroom luxury homes. The location is already proving to be popular with people who are reserving these new homes now off plan prior to the show home opening in Autumn.

Early bird incentives such as stamp duty and legal fees paid, carpets throughout and £3,000 cash back or 100% part exchange are some of the reasons why the development is attracting new home buyers and possibly new students for St Joseph’s School.
