Detached delights

Although the demand for detached living has never slowed down, current government planning regulations to maximise land use mean developers are building fewer detached homes - which can lead to disappointment for home-buyers with aspirations of owning their own ‘separate space.’
The latest offerings at the Orchards then will leave detached enthusiasts jumping for joy, with no fewer than four different types of stand alone properties – promising luxury and style at its very best.
What’s more, selected plots are available for a limited period only with the added incentive of £500 per calendar month towards the mortgage for two years – a great financial cushion for those worried about their monthly finances.
Lesley Myers, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), says: “The Orchards is a very popular development anyway, but our four-bedroom detached homes have been especially sought-after. Part of that has to do with the fact that current planning legislation, which encourages higher density development, means newly built detached houses are quite hard to come by, putting these homes very much in demand.
“Detached properties appeal to a variety of customers – from growing families, friends who have chosen to house-share, investors and to those who just want that extra bit of space or privacy. This impressive selection of large four-bedroom detached homes, which includes the Langdale, the Medlock, the Ouse and the Roadford house types, is a bit of a rarity so whatever their circumstances, would-be home owners should hurry to stake their claim.”
The four-bedroom detached designs are currently priced from £219,995 to £259,995 and all include a garage, downstairs cloakroom, utility room off the fully fitted kitchen and en-suite to master bedroom.
They also include the Ouse, which comes with something ‘extra’ on top – a whole extra floor of accommodation in the converted roof space. This area features two double bedrooms, a great space for older children or maybe for alternative uses such as a home office or gym.
However, although The Orchards is a haven for detached living, the Leyland venture, situated off Dunkirk Lane, also has an impressive mix of two and three-bedroom homes that will appeal to first-time buyers or starter families including the two-bedroom Canterbury and three-bedroom Lambourne.
The Orchards benefits from excellent commuter networks with Leyland train station just two miles away and Preston only ten miles away. It is also situated in close proximity to a wealth of local amenities including a 24-hour Tesco Extra supermarket, leisure centre and various sports clubs.
