Hot weather warms up the property market
Property developers and estate agents are preparing themselves for a busy weekend as the hot weather helps to warm up house sales. Late spring and early summer are typically the busiest times of the year for property sales and the current good weather is expected to help kick the market off this weekend.Kevin Murthwaite, Sales and Marketing Director at McDermott Homes – a leading North West property developer said: “At this time of year we traditionally see an increase in sales, more people tend to want to move during the summer and start looking as soon as the weather starts to pick up.
“It’s a combination of homes looking their best in bright natural light, gardens being in full bloom and families looking to match their purchases with the end of the school year. This time of year is undoubtedly the best for selling and buying homes.”
Kevin Murthwaite’s comments are matched by the National Association of Estate Agents’ Chief Executive, Peter Bolton King who said: “This weekend is expected to be the hottest of the year so far and with the sunshine there is often an upswing in viewings. Initial feedback from agents has been positive with many expecting it to be a busier weekend. It has been a difficult period for the property market but we are hopeful that the start of the good weather will get people out and about house hunting and feeling more optimistic about the market.”
McDermott Homes currently has six developments in the North West in Bacup, Keighley, Earby, Bolton, Blackburn and Rossendale. To find out more visit mcdermotthomes.co.uk.
