Award celebrations at Smithills Glade in Bolton

Matt Parkinson, site manager at Bovis Homes’ Smithills Glade development in Bolton, is celebrating after scooping a prestigious NHBC Pride in the Job Award. Issued by the National House Building Council (NHBC), the award recognises quality of construction on site, Matt is the first ever Bovis Homes (Northern) site manager to receive this award.

Before qualifying, developments undergo rigorous regular inspection from senior representatives of the NHBC. Inspectors assess the quality of build throughout all areas of construction, overall site presentation and the standard of the finished product.
A site manager with Bovis Homes for just 10 months, Matt achieved excellent results in all three areas. He commented: “I am delighted to be the first recipient of this award. It’s an excellent start to my career at Bovis Homes. The standard of construction is exceptionally high across all Bovis Homes developments, but the team and I were determined to ensure that our site achieved the best marks that it possibly could.”

Matt started work in the homebuilding industry as an apprentice joiner at the tender age of 16. From there, he progressed to the position of joiner and then trainee site manager. A site manager for more than 10 years, 31 year old Matt is now responsible for a team of more than 60 people.
