Whittle-le-Park, the place to be

29th September 2008 Print
Whittle-le-Park, the place to be Two exciting announcements have been made at Buckshaw Village, location of Miller Homes' Whittle-le-Park development. It has been confirmed that the new village will have a railway station built. Planning permission has been granted and the building will commence very soon. It is hoped that the station will be open next year.

Within an easy stroll of Whittle-le-Park, just behind the Runshaw Adult Training Centre in Euxton Lane, the station will sit on the Preston to Manchester line. With direct trains to these cities, commuting will be even easier from Whittle-le-Park. Gillian Gardiner, Sales Manager for ‘Housebuilder of the Year' Miller Homes, commented: "Whittle-le-Park already has superb commuting links, being between the M6 and the M61. It is one of the most convenient locations in the North West."

"However, the addition of the railway station will make commuting to the heart of the local cities even easier and quicker. It allows people to live in such a beautiful area and not spend hours each day commuting to the city centres. Even better, it will encourage environmentally friendly travel - a key consideration for this new type of village."

Also encouraging environmentally friendly travel will be the addition of a new primary school. Due to open in September 2010, the school will stand at the corner of Village Way and Buckshaw Avenue. Gillian Gardiner commented: "This is a great location for the school as it is close to the green, the health centre and other community facilities. With cycle and walkways leading to it, the school epitomises the ethos here - that each part of the development is about building the perfect place to live."

"Each piece is complementary. You can walk to the school from the homes. The children have room to play safely on the green. The facilities within the village and commuting beyond it are ultra convenient. The village offers a lifestyle that is less dependent on time spent in cars and so encourages a real quality of life for couples and families."

This quality of life is evident within the development and beyond it. Surrounded by trees and beautifully landscaped, Whittle-le-Park offers a semi-rural idyll. Just a short stroll to the north is the 650-acre Cuerden Valley Park which offers a wonderful mixture of woodlands, grassland, lakes and formal gardens abounding in wildlife. Its fishing, horse-riding and cycling facilities, as well as miles of relaxing walks, makes this the perfect near neighbour for the development.

Buckshaw Village showcases the wide use of sustainable building techniques. Within its development is a social infrastructure that will include cycle-paths and public transport routes, and a village-like shopping centre, it combines excellent environmental credentials with enormous convenience.

"Whittle-le-Park" offers of a choice 2, 3, 4, 5 bed homes priced from just £129,950. For more information log on to Millerhomes.co.uk.
