David’s delight with Woodland Park

When David Hobson moved into his new Miller home, with his wife and four daughters, it was a dream come true. David and Keely have bought a 3 bedroom ‘Ruskin’ at Woodland Park in Darwen and moved in within three weeks of signing the paperwork.

David explained why the move happened so quickly: “We opted for the Miller Homes Part Exchange Scheme, which was fantastic because it meant we could get things moving to suit our time scales rather than being stuck in a lengthy chain.”

David’s story begins back in 1993 when he bought his first house, a two bedroom terrace in Darwen. Then when David met Keely they moved to Spain where they lived for seven years, renting out their home in Darwen. While living in Spain, David and Keely expanded their family with the addition of their four girls, Jessica 7, Samantha 6, Rebecca 4 and Melissa 3.

Unfortunately, when Keely’s father suddenly became ill, it meant the family had to move back to the UK to the two bedroom terraced house in Darwen, which was a bit of a squeeze for the six of them. The girls having to share one bedroom was causing sleepless nights all round and so David and Keely finally made the decision to move.

David says: “We saw Miller Homes at Woodland Park and decided that was where we wanted to live. The house is amazing, the fittings are beautiful, the location is perfect and the heating is astounding. Having lived in an old property before, we can’t quite believe how quickly the whole house heats up and stays warm.

Although the old house was insulated and double glazed, we used to have to have the heating on for ages before it got warm. Now it’s almost instant and we love it! The girls have been so excited. For the final three weeks leading up to the move, they were counting down how many ‘sleeps’ they had to have before the move. Then on the day of the move I don’t think we have ever known them so excited. And here we are in our new house. It’s a lovely family home and we are all so pleased to be here.”
