Buyers do it ‘MiWay’ with Miller in Darwen

After helping hundreds of buyers across the UK move into a brand new home in 2008, the multi award-winning housebuilder is affirming its commitment to homebuyers in the North West and continuing to make new homes more affordable by extending the availability of its successful MiWay scheme across 17 of its 21 developments in the region.
Almost 270 homebuyers were able to move into a new Miller home last year, thanks to the initiative which enables purchasers to buy a new home without having to pay the full purchase price up front, but still own 100 percent of the property from day one. The scheme allows buyers to pay 75% now and 25% later with help in the form of long term equity loan from Miller Homes, with no interest or rent to pay (see millerhomes.co.uk/miway for details).
Buyers who found their perfect home with Miller Homes’ MiWay are Carla Perrin and her fiancé Oliver Kirkman. They bought their 3 bedroom semi-detached home at Miller Homes’ “Woodland Park” development in Darwen using the MiWay option.
Carla says: “As first time buyers, there’s no way we would have been able to afford a house like this without the MiWay scheme; it’s not like a starter home, we have lots of space. We looked around a number of new developments and liked the houses on “Woodland Park”. We thought they were well built and you got a lot of house for your money. We couldn’t afford the deposit on a new home but when we mentioned this to the Miller Homes sales person she told us about the new MiWay scheme.”
Carla and Oliver were previously living in Darwen and were keen to remain in the area. Carla says: “I have recently had a baby girl, Eleanor, and so it was important for us to be close to our families. We moved in during December and have already settled in, helped by the Miller team on site.”
Carla continues: “One of my brothers was already living on “Woodland Park” and recommended the development to us. Now we are encouraging my other brother, who still lives at home, to think about buying an apartment using MiWay.”
According to Sue Warwick, National Sales and Marketing Director at Miller Homes, the success of the scheme shows that confidence isn’t the biggest issue for most house hunters – it is affordability:
“We believe in creating opportunities for all homebuyers and our MiWay scheme goes a long way in helping homebuyers move into their dream home. MiWay strikes a real chord with purchasers as buyers generally find themselves able to access some of the more competitive mortgage deals on the market.
“People know that new homes represent great value for money and we are committed to assuring people that buying a stylish, high quality property is affordable with Miller Homes. New homes have never been more affordable, in fact there has never been a more opportune time to buy a new property, making it the best investment you’ll ever make.”
