Greene shoots from Miller Homes

7th April 2009 Print
With exquisite timing for the Spring resurgence in the housing market, Miller Homes has released a limited number of its ‘Greene’ 4 bed family homes with the new Government backed initiative, Homebuy Direct.

Paying from just 70 percent of the value of the property will to enable people to get on the property ladder or simply assist in the purchase of a new home, now - before the market takes off.

Commercial logic says that as long as people want something, the market will find a way to provide it. New homes in this case. With an undersupply of new homes, the Government’s own estimate says 27,000 new homes are needed here in the northwest every year to 2031, concern is mounting that house prices may soon start to rise.

Homebuy Direct has been created to help first time buyers, key workers and families with an income of less than £60,000, get onto the property ladder now. It is also aimed to assist those people who need to move to a bigger home or, those who have previously owned a property, but due to a change in relationships cannot afford to buy without assistance.

Buyers are given the opportunity to purchase 100% of their home by paying a minimum of 70% of the value now, with Miller Homes and the Government equally funding the remaining 30%. This 30% equity loan will only become repayable after 25 years or when the customer sells their home, whichever comes first. Another huge bonus of the scheme is that there is no interest payable on the 30% equity loan for the first five years and that 70% mortgages are more readily available during the credit crunch.

Greene, a natural choice…
The ‘Greene’ four bedroom detached family home at the ‘Millers Green’ development in Heysham, is already a popular choice for home buyers. With the Homebuy Direct scheme the offer to buy and own a very desirable £195,950 house now, for just £137,165 presents an exceptional opportunity. Plus, for a limited period only, Miller Homes will pay £500 towards a mortgage payment protection insurance cover.

The traditional exterior of the ‘Greene’ represents the archetypal detached English home, offering bright airy rooms, ideal for a growing family. The impressive frontage incorporates a pitched tiled roof over a bay window and integral garage and creates a welcoming porch area. Inside the lounge has features French doors, which open out, into the garden, while the dining room has an attractive bay window offering views out to the front of the property. The kitchen is a classic / contemporary design and includes stainless steel oven, hob and extractor hood and has a separate utility to help keep things tidy. There is a downstairs cloaks that should help reduce rush hours in the family bathroom, as will the en-suite shower room in the master bedroom.

Located in the historic village of Heysham, ‘Millers Green’ is within strolling distance of the seafront and picturesque village centre. The village has a range of individual shops, cafes and a 16th century pub, along with services catering for everyday needs. The new £137m M6 link road has Government approval. This will make commuting even and is due to open in 2014.
