Miller makes moving possible
Lee Bailey and his partner Sarah Nicholson have just moved-in to a new family home on Miller Homes’ Whittle-le-Park development in Buckshaw Village, one of the most exciting contemporary residential projects in the North West.Lee Bailey says: “We decided upon a 4 bedroom ‘Tarporley’ house design. With a six year old daughter and another child currently on the way, we will need the space this property offers.” Downstairs, the ‘Tarporley’ features a large lounge at the front of the property. To the rear is the kitchen, which has an archway to subtly divide the dining area. This gives all the convenience of open-plan living, while at the same time keeping kitchen chores away from the entertaining space.
On the first floor of the ‘Tarporley’ are bedrooms 2, 3 and 4 along with a family bathroom. The master bedroom, with en-suite, is a private space at the top of house.
Lee purchased the property using Miller Homes’ MiWay scheme, which gives customers the chance to pay ‘75% now, 25% later’, yet still own 100% of their property. He says: “This scheme made it easier for me to get a mortgage, as I didn’t need to get one for the full property price. It also made our move relatively quick and straightforward.”
Miller Homes has recently introduced a new Government backed initiative at Whittle Le Park, which is a similar scheme to MiWay. Homebuy Direct is designed to help those looking to get on the property ladder with a household income of less that £60,000. The scheme is open to; first time buyers, key workers and people re-entering the property market after a relationship breakdown or families wanting to move to a bigger home.
Buyers qualifying for Homebuy Direct are able to select one of the new properties in the scheme on this attractive Miller Homes development. They have the opportunity to purchase 100% of their home by paying a minimum of 70% of the value now, with Miller Homes and the Government equally funding the remaining 30%. This 30% equity loan is interest free for the first five years and will only become repayable after 25 years or when the owner sells their home, whichever comes first.
Besides the property, it was the beautiful location of their new home that appealed to Lee and Sarah. Lee says: “I was familiar with Buckshaw Village and liked the look of it and what it offered. Both Sarah and I have jobs where we are on the road a lot so being close to two motorways is also ideal for us.”
With its wide use of sustainable building techniques and friendly neighbourhood features, such as cycle paths and public transport routes, Buckshaw Village combines excellent environmental credentials with convenience, having a village shopping centre at the heart of the development. As Sarah and Lee will testify, lying between the M6 and M61, Whittle-le-Park is ideally located for commuting throughout the North West.
