Easy living in Chorley

This valuable help is available on a variety of homes in the latest phase of development at Buckshaw Village, including everything from two-bedroom apartments to detached family homes.
Jointly funded by developer Redrow and the government, through the Homes and Community Agency (HCA), this equity loan is interest-free for the first five years and means that a two-bedroom ‘Avon’ apartment normally priced at £104,950 could be purchased for an initial outlay of just £73,465.
HomeBuy Direct is open to people who have an annual household income less than £60,000, including first time buyers, families who need more space and people re-entering the property market following a change in circumstances, eg. divorce or the breakdown of a relationship.
Buckshaw Village is one of 33 Redrow developments across England to offer HomeBuy Direct, between them providing almost 700 affordable properties.
Customers will own 100% of their home from day one – but may only have to pay as little as 70% of the initial purchase price. They can start purchasing the remaining share in instalments after just 12 months.
Christine Aitken, sales director for Redrow Homes (North), says: “With Redrow matching the government pound for pound to provide the 30% equity loan - helping with the need for a large cash deposit - and the loan being interest free for the first five years, this is an excellent opportunity for people to get the brand new home they’ve always wanted at a price they can afford.
“The fact they potentially only need to borrow 70% of the purchase price will help give purchasers access to mortgage deals and, with new homes easier to maintain, more energy efficient and potentially cheaper to run than older second hand properties, it all serves to make our new homes at Buckshaw Village very appealing.”
Situated off Dawson’s Lane, Buckshaw Village is successfully delivering over 2,000 quality-built homes and creating a thriving community between the bustling towns of Chorley and Leyland.
Along with the new homes, there is a thriving business park, proposals for a district shopping centre, provision for a new railway station with park and ride facilities, a primary school, health centre and outdoor sports amenities.
The latest phase of homes here is Park Avenue, which features two, three and four-bedroom properties with Redrow’s new, improved interior specification.
Redrow’s Christine Aitken adds: “With a selection of larger homes also available at Buckshaw Village, it’s not just first time buyers who can benefit from HomeBuy Direct. It also provides an excellent opportunity for eligible families to get the brand new home they aspire to at a price they can afford. For example, an impressive four-bedroom detached home, previously priced at £234,995 can now be snapped up for just £164,496.”
