Blooming marvellous ‘Woodland Park’

Miller Homes’ successful development, ‘Woodland Park’ in Darwen is already a thriving community. This week’s the winner of its very own gardening competition has been announced.

In March this year, Woodland Park residents were invited prepare and enter their gardens into a Miller Homes gardening competition. Sales Consultant Alison Mansfield explains: “We had seen many new gardens taking inspiration from the show home garden, the local parks and local countryside. We thought that our gardening enthusiasts should be rewarded for helping make Woodland Park so attractive.”

“From almost every point of the development you have the most wonderful views of the Pennines and at the highest point of Woodland Park there is an open space to create a village green area to offer a sense of community. Miller Homes have invested in commissioning this to provide something very special at the centre of this new residential neighbourhood, for all its residents to enjoy.”

“So we wanted to help the already emerging Woodland Park community – and to promote each gardens looking as beautiful as the surrounding area and the communal landscaping that we have invested in.”

After weeks of hard work, the green fingered winner was this week announced as James Conway.

“James has worked very hard to create a really colourful and vibrant garden. His creativity and energy has made a beautiful addition to the look Anyon Street.” says Alison.

He receives the £500 prize and be “crowned” best gardener of Woodland Park for 2009.

“It has been a wonderful way of bringing neighbours together to helping this beautiful new community to really blossom” says Sales Manager Kay Halls. We hope that James garden is an inspiration to more new residents to make the most of their new gardens.”
Miller Homes’ ‘Woodland Park’ show home features a modern take on how to make the most of outdoor space. With all the new family homes featuring French doors to help make the garden space an extension of the home on warm days and provide an attractive ‘living’ picture all year round.
