A step onto the property ladder for Dylan

Dylan and his partner, Nicola, have bought the ‘Darwin’ house design, a 3 bedroom semi detached house, which has a host of distinctive and unusual features. The main appeal of the ‘Darwin’ is the dual aspect of the property. Its geometric shape is similar to a gentle ‘v’, which gives many of the rooms a light, bright living space. The large, airy, upstairs landing gives a wide open feel to a very modern home.
Dylan says: “We were looking to rent a house in the area because we couldn’t afford to buy, as we didn’t have enough money for a deposit. Then Nicola saw an advert in the local paper offering the chance to buy a new home through the Homebuy Direct scheme. So we just had to find out more.”
The Homebuy Direct Scheme is a Government backed incentive designed to help people, like Dylan and Nicola, to get onto the property ladder. Miller Homes has signed up to the scheme and has many successful stories of people being able to buy their first home. The scheme works by giving buyers that qualify the opportunity to purchase 100% of their home by paying 70% of the value now, with Miller Homes and the Government equally funding the remaining 30%. This 30% equity loan will only become repayable after 25 years or when the customer sells their home, whichever comes first. Another huge bonus of the scheme is that there is no interest payable on the 30% equity loan for the first five years.
Without the Homebuy Direct scheme, Dylan and Nicola would not have been able to buy their own home. Dylan says: “It has been amazing. Miller Homes’ staff have been really supportive and have made everything so easy for us. We love our new home. It’s a really unusual shape, which appealed to us both. The lounge is fantastic because it is the full depth of the house and has French doors out into the garden. We choose the ‘Darwin’ house because it is quirky, but also because it is so light and bright. We just love every room.”
Miller Homes prides itself on its customer service and aims to make buying a Miller Home as easy as possible. The Homebuy Direct scheme supports this commitment to helping people to buy a new home and start their journey on the property ladder. Miller Homes’ has a house style and size to suit everyone from single professionals and growing families to those downsizing in their retirement.
