Dylan Avery has just moved into his brand new Miller Home on the Woodland Park development in Darwen, thanks to the Homebuy Direct Scheme.

Dylan and his partner, Nicola, have bought the ‘Darwin’ house design, a 3 bedroom semi detached house, which has a host of distinctive and unusual features. The main appeal of the ‘Darwin’ is the dual aspect of the property. Its geometric shape is similar to a gentle ‘v’, which gives many of the rooms a light, bright living space. The Homebuy Direct Scheme is a Government backed incentive designed to help people, like Dylan and Nicola, to get onto the property ladder. The scheme works by giving buyers that qualify the opportunity to purchase 100% of their home by paying 70% of the value now, with Miller Homes and the Government equally funding the remaining 30%. Without the Homebuy Direct scheme, Dylan and Nicola would not have been able to buy their own home. Dylan says: “It has been amazing. Miller Homes’ staff have been really supportive and have made everything so easy for us. We love our new home. It’s a really unusual shape, which appealed to us both. The lounge is fantastic because it is the full depth of the house and has French doors out into the garden. We choose the ‘Darwin’ house because it is quirky, but also because it is so light and bright. We just love every room.”
