HomeBuy Direct your way to a new apartment in Rochdale

15th September 2009 Print
HomeBuy Direct your way to a new apartment in Rochdale Home buyers in Rochdale can own a brand new, stylish apartment at Churchgate, in Milnrow near Rochdale, but put off paying a big chunk of the asking price.

They do this by benefiting from an equity loan for up to 30% of the purchase price through HomeBuy Direct.

Jointly funded by developer Redrow and government, through the Homes and Community Agency (HCA), this equity loan is interest-free for the first five years and means that a one-bedroom apartment at the popular Spinners Mews can be bought for an initial outlay of just £60,200.

Perfect for first time home owners and others on a budget, these apartments feature an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area for contemporary living and include a single parking space. And for those buyers who like to ‘try before they buy’, a brand new show apartment has just opened and is waiting to be explored.

HomeBuy Direct is open to people who have an annual household income less than £60,000, including first time buyers and people re-entering the property market following a change in circumstances, eg. Divorce or the breakdown of a relationship.

Spinners Mews is one of 33 Redrow developments across England to offer the scheme, between them providing almost 700 affordable properties.

Customers will own 100% of their home from day one – but may only have to pay as little as 70% of the initial purchase price. They can start purchasing the remaining share in instalments after just 12 months.

Lesley Myers, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), says: “Homebuy Direct provides an excellent opportunity for people to get the brand new home they’ve always wanted at a price they can afford.

“The fact they potentially only need to borrow 70% of the purchase price will help give purchasers access to a better range of mortgage deals and, with new homes easier to maintain, more energy efficient and potentially cheaper to run than older second hand properties, it all serves to make new homes like the apartments at Spinners Mews very appealing.”

Redrow’s new show apartment has been fashionably dressed with an exciting colour palette of shocking turquoise and cream. The furniture also fits in with the modern theme and includes a turquoise couch.

Spinners Mews is perfectly situated just two miles away from Oldham town centre and six miles from the bright lights of Manchester – both offering a wealth of amenities, shopping and nightlife. Residents can also take advantage of the motorway network, with both the M62 and M60 being within easy reach, making it a perfect pad for commuters.

Chadderton itself offers everything you need for every day living including a sports centre and frequent rail services from Oldham run into Manchester Victoria station in around 20 minutes.
