Saxon Place comes to life thanks to the children of Soham

The UK’s most successful homebuilder, Persimmon Homes, launched the competition late last year, asking the local children, all aged between seven and 11 to help come up with a marketing name for the site.
The school level winners were Artur Fernades, aged nine from The Weatheralls who thought of Saxon Place while ten year old Jack Caddy from St Andrews chose Saxondale. They both received £100 of sports vouchers. Artur was chosen as the overall winner and Persimmon therefore donated £500 worth of book tokens to The Weatheralls.
Jon Gibbs, sales director for Persimmon Homes Anglia instigated the initiative and comments: “We had an overwhelming number of entries through from the children at The Weatheralls and St Andrews and I’d like to thank each and every one of them for their enthusiasm and creative ideas.
“Artur’s and Jack’s entries really caught my eye, though and I chose Saxon Place as I thought it captured the essence of what the site will be like. Congratulations to Jack and especially Artur for doing so well in the competition.”
Across the Group, Persimmon Homes takes its role in the community extremely seriously and the development naming competition was an initiative designed to forge a greater working relationship between the local schools and Persimmon.
Saxon Place is situated off The Birches in Soham and is scheduled to launch on 18th August with a mix of 44 of three and four bedroom executive homes on offer. Prices will be announced in due course.
