Elegant living in a countryside setting

18th October 2007 Print
Elegant living in a countryside setting Proving that urbanites don’t have the monopoly on style, countryside living has been ‘glammed up’ in Ailsworth near Peterborough, with the opening of a revamped show home.

Potential buyers at Redrow’s The Sycamores can now look around the sophisticated four-bedroom Milthorpe home with its inspiring colour palette of natural cream and beige, together with black, white and touches of red.

The fantastic location surrounded by countryside yet so close to the thriving centre of Peterborough, coupled with the stylish, spacious design of the properties, makes The Sycamores @ Ailsworth perfect for young professionals and families alike.

Mary Timlin, Sales Director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands) says: “We felt that such a beautiful development in a fantastic location deserved a truly inspirational show home and the Milthorpe certainly won’t disappoint. Would-be purchasers can see, feel and experience what it would be like to own a home here – as well as get a few DIY tips.”

A mixture of white and walnut furniture is used throughout the home, with finishing touches including large red luxurious cushions, taupe quilted throws and Roman blinds. The centre piece of the home is the lounge, which features a contemporary white two-seater sofa and black and white feature wall.

When finished The Sycamores @ Ailsworth will feature a variety of three, four and five-bedroom homes, including some large detached styles.

The Milthorpe is a versatile three-storey home, with the usually redundant roof space being used for two bedrooms and a shower room, while a third bedroom, family bathroom and master bedroom with en-suite and walk in wardrobe are on the first floor.

The spacious lounge, separate dining room, kitchen, utility room, cloakroom and understairs storage cupboard are all on the ground floor. Prices start from £369,995, also including a detached single garage.

Another popular property at the development is the five-bedroom Rickford, which has two bedrooms and a bathroom in its roofspace – perfect for giving teenagers or elderly relatives some space of their own or as an office or even a home gym.

The first floor has a study, master bedroom with en-suite and luxurious walk in wardrobe, while a further two bedrooms share a ‘Jack and Jill’ style bathroom. On the ground floor buyers will find a lounge, separate dining area, storage cupboard and cloakroom and interconnecting family room, breakfast area and kitchen, leading to a utility room. With a detached single garage the Rickford starts from £469,995.

There are numerous opportunities for people to personalise their new home by selecting from the ‘Indulge with Redrow’ options and extras, featuring choices for kitchens, bathrooms, fireplaces, wardrobes and other areas. To make it easier, Redrow has invested in special computer software for its marketing suite at The Sycamores, which allows potential buyers to mix and match kitchen designs and worktops and see them in-situ in the house type they have chosen.

A drive of about 15 minutes will take you to Peterborough, which boasts many shops and restaurants, wildlife reserves, cinemas and a museum. The historical city also has its own cathedral – reported to be one of the top ten most photographed landmarks in the UK.

Commuters will be pleased with the development’s good access to the A1(M) and A47 as well as Peterborough train station’s regular service to London, which makes the journey to King’s Cross within an hour. There are also train times of one hour to Leicester and around one hour 15 minutes to Nottingham.

To see first hand how life can be lived at The Sycamores visit the development on Station Road, Ailsworth, open daily between 10am and 5.30pm. Alternatively, for more information about The Sycamores log onto Redrow.co.uk.
