Friends flock to Beauchamp Place

Jim Matthews (26) and partner Michelle Palmer (25) moved into their two-bedroom apartment in December, and that set the ball rolling for the friends to arrive.
Jim says: "We'd heard through a friend that the homes at Beauchamp Place were worth looking at and Michelle and I were thinking about moving, although still saving for a deposit.
"When we visited the development we were told all about the helpful packages available - and that we and a friend could share £1,000 if we recommended Beauchamp Place to them and they moved in."
Entrepreneurial Jim, who sells computer network infrastructure all over the UK, spotted a great opportunity, and soon made his recommendation.
Maritess Gale (22) and partner Stuart Jackson (29) visited Georgewimpey.co.uk to take a look at their friends' new neighbourhood.
"We weren't looking to move to Eaton Socon," explains Maritess, who was renting a two-bedroom house with Stuart in nearby St Neots. "But we realised the prices were quite low and the homes really good, so we decided to take a closer look."
For buying their four-bedroom ‘Kimbolton' townhouse off-plan, they received a big discount, and it wasn't long before they became Jim and Michelle's newest neighbours.
Already local to the St Neots area, first-time buyers Laura Stewart (21) and partner Daniel (26) spotted the early stages of the build back in April last year.
"We were attracted by the idea of our first home being new," explains Laura, "and after speaking with the ladies in the Sales Office, we decided that a George Wimpey home would be a great place to start on the property ladder.
"We chose a two-bedroom ‘Roxton' apartment because it's very open, with plenty of space and there are lovely, big French doors which are great for the summer. We chose the tiles, units and fittings for our kitchen and bathrooms.
"We love living at Beauchamp Place because we've been able to make our new home look the way we wanted it. For other young buyers, the proximity of the school and all the local amenities are a great attraction - we're very close to a small supermarket, a fish and chip shop and a pub, and yet far enough from the main town areas to enjoy peace and quiet. Everything is just a stone's throw away."
Jenni Whitbread (24) heard about the development through Laura and Daniel, and moved into a two-bedroom ‘Toseland' apartment with partner, Stuart (26), just a few days after their friends.
"We were attracted to the development because of the affordable houses George Wimpey offer," says Jenni, "and I love the shape of the lounge and kitchen, and the fact both bedrooms offer plenty of space.
Laura and Stuart received £500 to match Laura and Dan's reward for recommending them.
Prices at Beauchamp Place start at £124,950 for a two-bedroom apartment and just £195,000 for a four-bedroom family home.
Beauchamp Place is situated in the village of Eaton Socon on the Cambridgeshire/Bedfordshire border. With its picturesque scenes including small thatched cottages, the village retains a traditional feel and is home to a range of everyday amenities, including shops, pubs and restaurants, a health centre, a nursery and a primary school.
The busy town of St Neots lies just two miles from the development providing a wider selection of high street shops, bars, restaurants and leisure activities.
George Wimpey's ‘easymover' programme offers a range of incentives which can be tailored to homebuyers' circumstances. Incentives are subject to availability, and further details are available from the sales executive.
