Persimmon gets househunters on the move If you think the UK's current economic downturn has meant you're not able to buy a brand new home, then think again, as Persimmon Homes East Midlands has a range of beautiful apartments and houses at it's Hampton Hargate development, Meridian, which are available under the company's shared equity scheme.

"Through the Government backed ‘My Choice Homebuy' initiative, we're able to offer our one bedroom apartments with 50 per cent shared equity," comments Steve Matthews, sales director for Persimmon Homes East Midlands.

Under the scheme, apartments available from £117,500 are on offer for just £58,750, making them extremely affordable for those looking to get a foothold on the property ladder. Purchasers would pay their mortgage on the first 50 per cent, while the remaining 50 per cent is payable over ten years and at just 1.75 per cent, which is well below the average rate of repayment loans*.

Highlighting that it is cheaper to buy than rent in the area, Persimmon has researched that those buying could save up to £200 per month** by purchasing through the My Choice Homebuy scheme.

Kerry Whittingham, new homes sales director with New Homes Mortgages Helpline, works alongside Persimmon Homes in supporting homebuyers onto the property ladder, she states: "Our role is to ensure all purchasers get sound advice and the opportunity to take advantage of the best mortgages available to them. Indeed, with the incentives on offer from Persimmon many purchasers could well find themselves in a better position to buy now than six months ago and we are here to ensure they get the best deal possible."

In addition to the shared equity initiative, Persimmon is also offering its acclaimed Move into a Showhome incentive to purchasers. This is a popular choice among first time buyers as Persimmon will professionally interior design and style their home at no extra expense. Purchasers can therefore sit back and relax, knowing their home will be the envy of all who visit without any additional effort required.

Steve concludes: "We are all aware of the difficulties involved with buying a property, which is why we're going out of our way to assist first time buyers and those looking to trade up."

Hampton Hargate has an excellent range of amenities, sports centre and a local school. It's an ideal location for commuters with the A1 leading to Huntingdon, Cambridge and the North and the A605 to Northampton and A47 towards Wisbech and Leicester, close by.
