George Wimpey kits out Chesterton Villa FC Chesterton Villa FC's Under 11s have scored a great home win by securing a generous donation from George Wimpey. The leading developer in the Cambridge area has sponsored a brand new team strip to kit out the U11s for their forthcoming matches.

Zowie Higgs, who arranged sponsorship on the team's behalf and whose son, Billy (10) plays in midfield for the U11s, says: "George Wimpey was really happy to pay for the new kits, which look really smart with the club badge and player numbers on the shirts and shorts.

"It's a real boost for our players, who had a fantastic first season and finished fourth in the league last year. The kit unites the team and they're thrilled because they look just like professional footballers."

Chesterton Villa U11s play in the Cambridge Mini League, and during the football season practise at Manor Community College in Cambridge on Friday evenings, with matches and additional practice sessions on Saturdays. The club also has U12 and U14 teams, and children can train with the club from the age of eight.

Steve Rolt, George Wimpey East Anglia's Sales and Marketing Director, says: "While we have been building in the Cambridge area, including our latest development, Greenfields Park in Cambourne, local people have made us feel very welcome, and so we're happy to give something back to the community.

"George Wimpey is dedicated to promoting the areas in which we work and we hope our kit donation will help Chesterton Villa U11s have a successful second season!"

Greenfields Park in Cambourne comprises 110 two, three and four-bedroom homes nine miles west of Cambridge. Further information on the homes is available by visiting the development off Lancaster Way, Cambourne, and open daily from 10am to 5pm.
