Trade new for old for the home of your dreams

26th February 2009 Print
Trade new for old for the home of your dreams Swapping your existing property for a new home is a quick, stress-free and appealing solution, especially when it’s taking vendors nearly three months to find a buyer for themselves.

Latest figures from Hometrack show that the average length of time taken to sell a house has risen by almost 50% in the last year to 12 weeks; and it now takes an average of 13 viewings to achieve each sale.

Little wonder then that greater numbers of homebuyers at Redrow @ Love’s Farm, in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, are taking advantage of the chance to swap new for old using part-exchange, so they can move virtually straight away.

Award-winning Redrow offers part-exchange on selected plots, effectively acting as a cash buyer for the customer’s existing property, subject to criteria. It takes the problem of finding a buyer or being stuck in a housing chain out of the customer’s hands and paves the way towards that longed-for new home.

Mary Timlin, sales director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), said: “Part-exchange is perfect for people who want to move right away, but are being held back by their current house. We take any hassle out of their hands so they can concentrate on their all-new Redrow home.

“They will also enjoy all the other benefits that come with owning a new home such as improved energy efficiency and cheaper running costs, no costly renovations or upkeep and no living with a previous owner’s decorating disasters.”

Being able to part-exchange gives developers like Redrow a big advantage over the second hand sector in the current economic climate. Redrow can also provide access to a network of financial and legal advisers to help customers find the best mortgage for their circumstances and to ensure the move goes smoothly.

Part-exchange is just one of the ways Redrow can help its customers. Other options include deposit paid schemes and mortgage subsidies

At Redrow @ Loves Farm, part-exchange will be considered on the four-bedroom, mid-terrace Gorsley, which is priced from £219,995. The four-bedroom, three-storey town house has a first floor lounge as well as an informal family room on the ground floor.

The development also features a range of two-bedroom apartments currently available from £125,995.

Redrow @ Loves Farm enjoys close proximity to St Neots town centre, which boasts many shops, restaurants and entertainment venues, as well as the main attractions of the Great River Ouse and Riverside Park. The town’s railway station is within walking distance and offers journey times to London Kings Cross of 40 to 50 minutes.

There are also good road links to the A1, M1 and M11, with Bedford and Cambridge only about 25 minutes’ drive away.

The marketing suite and show homes are open Thursday to Monday, from 10am to 5.30pm. For further details see redrow.co.uk.
