Hampton man goes for milk and returns with a new home

When Joe McShane made a trip to the Serpentine Green shopping centre in Hampton, Peterborough, he wasn’t planning on buying a home – but as well as the pint of milk he went in for, he came away with a brand new four-bedroom George Wimpey house.

“The trains from Peterborough take less than an hour to London – about the same amount of time as it takes from Leigh-on-Sea – and it’s only a five-minute drive from Hampton to Peterborough city centre, although for day-to-day needs I don’t need to travel further than the local shops and restaurants at Serpentine Green.”
