Help available for buyers with no deposit

Help available for buyers with no deposit If you’re ready to purchase a brand new property in the Littleport area, but are daunted by reports of difficulties in obtaining a mortgage, then fear not as Persimmon Homes East Midlands is offering the shared equity HomeBuy Direct scheme at its Holmewood development designed to assist those with little or no deposit.

Persimmon Homes is supporting the Government-led 70 per cent shared equity initiative to help first time buyers and those earning a household income of less than £60,000 to purchase one of the company’s brand new properties. To assist househunters further, the company is organising a HomeBuy Direct evening on Friday 24th July from 3pm until 7pm at the development with refreshments available on arrival.

Through the initiative, purchasers will be required to raise funding for 70 per cent of the purchase price including a mortgage plus any small deposit. The remaining 30 per cent is made up by an equity loan which is co-funded by the Government and Persimmon Homes.

Steve Matthews, sales director for Persimmon Homes East Midlands states: “With so many differing shared equity initiatives now available, househunters are forgiven for being a little cautious and unsure as to what buying through shared equity means.

“It’s for this reason that we’ve launched an evening where our expert sales advisers a financial adviser and a HomeBuy Direct agent will be on hand at Holmewood – to dispel rumours, answer any questions and help those who initially thought they couldn’t afford to buy, to find a home to suit their needs and budget.”

Prices at Holmewood start from just £129,497 through HomeBuy Direct for a four bedroom housetype.

Steve concludes: “Those looking to start out or move up the property ladder will be delighted to hear that they don’t have to raise a deposit to buy one of our enviable homes and this coupled with our competitive prices on offer, there really is no better time to buy.”

The village of Littleport hosts all the necessary amenities including shops, restaurants and pubs as well as good local schools, healthcare facilities and sports centre. Just a short drive away is the bustling cathedral city of Ely and Cambridge is just a 30 minute journey. Littleport train station provides direct access to London’s Kings Cross station, meaning a commute to the City is just an hour.
