The building blocks of life

The pupils aged between nine and ten were first given a talk about site safety from Health and Safety Advisor Paul Neale. It was then the turn of Sales and Marketing Director, Zoe Dobbs who explained to the children how a home was built and the different stages needed in order to complete a development, as idyllic as Oakley Gardens as she comments:
“It was a pleasure to show the children around Oakley Gardens and I hope that it has given them an insight into the construction process. It was a very rewarding day and the children asked some interesting questions about the development. They were extremely pleased to be shown around the homes and I think all the children decided which bedroom was theirs, the only problem was they all wanted the same one!”
Class teacher, Annette Mashru, who organised the trip, extended her gratitude to Linden Homes. She comments: "The children had a really great time and it has given them a chance to see how the construction process begins with an initial design and ends with a completed house. I’d like to say a big thank you to Linden Homes for enabling us to see first hand, eco friendly elements being put into place on Oakley Gardens, as we have been discussing this at school. Especially as the children now have a greater awareness of the importance of environmental features in new houses."
